Violence Against Women’s March & Vigil

An event which aims to unite communities to demonstrate support for survivors of sexual violence through a march and vigil with the aim of raising awareness around issues of GBV, femicide and the awareness of violence

“As we gather and march, we walk in solidarity with survivors and, for many of us, as survivors,”

March

Accra came out in numbers to march in solidarity to support and spread awareness on the injustices and violence women face in Ghana and across the world.

Vigil

On the same night after the violence against women’s march, survivors of Domestic violence, sexual violence and GBV gathered to hold a candle light vigil in honor of all lives lost to violence against women. Particularly the lives of the 3 Takoradi girls. This was also a healing speak out session for survivors to share their stories and find some healing.
